Maybe when NI releases Komplete 20, I'll pay my upgrade or. I'm sure Komplete 13 will gain more fans than the ones who don't upgrade, because this industry is exploding. I realize part of my disinterest is the maturity of an ageing NI community who started with Reaktor in the late 90s, Kontakt, then Kore integration. Was I wishing for a ultra-rare string instrument? No.

The NI promotions are always counting the number of tools and promoting the increasing gig size. It just seems increasing NI content over quality.
I got the $99 Summer sale email upgrade for the normal Komplete.įor me it's pretty underwhelming.

(I will try to get a box when K14 eventually drops.)I got komplete 13 ultimate collectors edition upgrade box/hard drive from sweetwater, financing was a no brainer, my situation was the other way around, I wanted the download but they could only sell me the hard drive. If I wanted a box, it appears the only way to do that was via a new purchase. Used to be, when I purchased a Komplete Update from NI, I had the option to purchase a boxed copy for a little extra $, but today I only had the option to download. I like having the installer drive (I have used the K8U one many times, as it's the last one to feature Battery 3). One new thing that I didn't see anyone mention in this thread- so I don't know if it's a stock/supply issue or just how NI is doing things now, but: I own boxed editions of every Komplete release from Komplete 5-7 through Komplete Ultimate 8-12. Now that NI is doing Summer of Sound 2021, with 50% off upgrades/updates, I took the K13 plunge.
